Naples’ Cultural Scene
One of the anchors of East Naples is the Naples Botanical Garden — a stunning 170-acre property with beautifully curated gardens, seasonal exhibitions, and lush tropical plantings. It’s a world-class attraction that draws visitors from across the country and is well worth at least a half day of your time.
Bird Gardens of Naples
A nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to rescued parrots and exotic birds from around the world. Unlike a traditional zoo, it focuses on conservation, education, and providing permanent homes for birds that can no longer live with their previous owners. Guided tours are free, but reservations are required and often book out weeks in advance — plan ahead. You’ll see dozens of colorful species up close and hear the story behind each bird.
Crew Bird Rookery Swamp Trail
Built on an old tram road, the trail stretches more than 12 miles through wetlands, with excellent opportunities to spot alligators, turtles, birds, and other wildlife. Wildlife here can appear very close — alligators are frequently seen resting beside or crossing the trail. Stay alert, keep children close, and leave dogs at home. Bring water, sunscreen, binoculars, and a camera.
