Cambier Park: Things to See and Do

Cambier Park During your stay with us at Naples Florida Vacation Homes, you will probably want a change of pace from the beach, from the shopping, the fishing, the boating, the rugged nature, and the arts scene.
Yes, these are all reasons why you come to Naples in the first place, and they are as rich as any other destination, maybe even more distinct, memorable and significant than in others you have been to.
However, if you are staying with us for an extended period, you are probably looking for a change in activities and sights just to help refresh yourself to do more activities and sights that are distinctly Naples and of Southwest Florida.
One of the ways you can help diversify your trip to Naples, and also to get a change of pace to your trip is to visit one of the many public parks.
One of these parks that still exemplifies Naples, but will help give you that change of pace and diversity you are looking for is Cambier Park.
Located in the heart of Fifth Avenue South, Cambier Park offers all the best of a public park, a mini resort, and a community center rolled into one, without feeling, being set up, or really looking like any of them. This park offers a tennis court with the Arthur L Allen Tennis Center, five shuffleboard courts, two bocce courts, a softball field, a band shell, a covered pavilion, open green space, and a children’s playground that has so much to offer that your child will never want to leave!

Things to See

The park is also home to the Naples Art Association, housed in the von Liebig Center, the Gulf Shore Players, and a local community center, the Norris Community Center. As a result, many activities for the local community take place here, in addition to attracting locals and visitors alike to enjoy the outdoor activities available to locals and visitors alike here.
The Norris Community Center, also known as the Norris Center, offers dance classes, theatrical performances and other activities and classes throughout the year. This is the home for the Gulf Shore Playhouse, one of the premier theatrical performance groups in Southwest Florida.
Activities at Cambier Park are also influenced by another major center that calls Cambier Park Home, the Naples Art Association, housed at the von Liebig Art Center. The Naples Art Association itself offers art classes, as well as free exhibits and a gift shop that can be accessed.
However, the Naples Art Association sponsors one of the largest monthly festivals of the year, known as Art in the Park. This is a chance to where you can see and purchase unique art by local artists using various mediums.

Things to Do

The Arthur L Allen Tennis Center offers very accessible, affordable yet enjoyable opportunities to play tennis. They do offer guest fees, $14.00 for adults and $7.00 for children and private lessons. Lessons start at $44, and go as high as $110.00. Adult clinics are about $25.00 per person.
So come here to either play tennis, take tennis lessons, or watch some of the members and non-members play a game. For more information, please visit their website at http://allentenniscenter.net/.
The five shuffleboard courts, two bocce courts, and softball field do not require any fees to use, however you might need to bring your own equipment. The band shell and covered pavilion are often used for outdoor music performances throughout the year. These include the Jazz Concert series, and sometimes there are chamber group performances and other small symphonic performances.

Conclusion

So if you are looking for a way to diversify and change the pace of your trip a bit, Cambier Park might just be the location for you! Come here to play a round of tennis, play a game of softball, or perhaps bocce. Maybe you want to play some shuffleboard, or take in a show or class at the Norris Center.
Perhaps you want to do a workshop at the von Liebig Center, or purchase that amazing souvenir and unique gifts for friends back home at Art in the Park. Maybe you want to have a nice chat with your significant other or fellow travel companion while the kids play for hours on the playground.
Whatever you choose to do while at Cambier Park, you will be reminded and be refreshed by what the Naples community has to offer, not only for its residents, but for its visitors like you.
