What You'll See at the Naples Historical Society

The Naples Historical Society is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to “preserve Naples history and heritage for the community and future generations to enjoy.” Founded in 1962, it details the past of the city and surrounding area. To accomplish this goal, it produces 10 educational programs and heads five preservation initiatives. Experience them the next time you come to Naples, Florida!
The City of Naples has a rich history. Enjoy learning about it at the Naples Historical Society during your stay. The Work of the Naples Historical Society

The Naples Historical Society puts on a variety excellent educational programming for those interested in the area’s history. Visit them for a tour of the Historic Palm Cottage, or for a walking tour of the Naples Historic District. During the winter months, their Garden Side Chickee Chats explore various topics related to Naples history.
The Naples Historical Society also maintains collections of photographs and Naples memorabilia through their Archival Development Project. Visitors can view pieces from the collections at the Historic Palm Cottage, the educational headquarters of the organization.
Naples Oral Histories: If These Walls Could Talk is a program the society started in 2009. It identifies, solicits, collects, records, films, archives, and saves family stories with a focus on Naples history. You can watch the stories collected thus far in their Archival Viewing Center.

Rent Historic Palm Cottage

The Historic Palm Cottage in Naples, Florida is a beautiful and unique space. It is an excellent place to hold events and celebrate special occasions for small groups. Enjoy use of the cottage and the gorgeous Norris Gardens for your cocktail party, small wedding, or other gathering.

  • $500 for Professional Advisors in the History’s Heroes program
  • $700 to $1,200 for Society members
  • $1,500 for Non-members
