October Trip Planning: Naples, Florida

From a family vacation to a couples retreat, October is one of the most enjoyable months for a trip to Naples, Florida. As the weather cools off, it’s more comfortable spending long days at the beach, shopping, or taking on one of the many other activities the area has to offer.

And don’t forget: October is the start of stone crab season, so there’s no better time to visit your favorite Naples seafood restaurant.

Naples, FL Weather in October

Although temperatures cool down a bit in October, that doesn’t mean you have to take all the fun indoors. Here’s why:

  • Average high air temperature: 88° F (31° C)
  • Average low air temperature: 69° F (20° C)
  • Average water temperature: 81° F (27° C)

Also, October is one of the driest months in Naples, with an average rainfall of 3.8 inches. This improves the likelihood of a dry (or mostly dry) trip, thus allowing you to maximize your outdoor time.

How to Dress for a Naples Trip in October

With the temperatures above in mind, you want to pack your swimsuit, flip-flops, and sunhat. And that’s especially true if you plan on spending time at the beach or pool.

Naples has long been known for its fashion and endless shopping opportunities, but that doesn’t mean you have to “dress to the nines” every time you hit the town. Comfortable and casual clothing will have you looking and feeling your best, all while blending in with locals and tourists alike.

Tip: it never hurts to bring along an umbrella and/or rain jacket when spending time outdoors. Even though October is a relatively dry month in Naples, there’s always the chance of an afternoon shower.

Reasons to Visit Naples, Florida in October

Everyone has their reasons for visiting Naples, but we’ll leave you with these three for planning a trip in October:

  • Daytime temperatures are still high enough to enjoy the ocean; evening temperatures are cooler and more comfortable.
  • October is part of the “dry season.”
  • October is the start of stone crab season (save your appetite!)
