Day Trips from Naples, Florida
Staying in Naples for a few days? While Naples itself has plenty to explore, sometimes it’s fun to get out and discover nearby gems. Here are some of our favorite day-trip destinations, all within a few hours’ drive, perfect for a long day of adventure.
Marco Island
Just south of Naples, Marco Island is a tropical paradise with beautiful beaches, waterfront dining, and kayaking opportunities. Ideal for a relaxed day by the water or a boat tour through the surrounding waterways.
Fort Myers & Sanibel Island
About an hour north of Naples, Fort Myers is full of history and culture, including Thomas Edison’s winter estate. Nearby Sanibel Island is famous for shelling, quiet beaches, and a laid-back island vibe.
Everglades National Park
For a true Florida adventure, head east to the Everglades. Airboat tours let you see alligators, unique wildlife, and incredible wetlands. A great option for nature lovers and photographers.
Miami
Around 2–2.5 hours away, Miami offers vibrant nightlife, iconic beaches like South Beach, and cultural hotspots such as Little Havana and Wynwood Walls. It’s a long day, but very rewarding if you want a big-city experience.
Saint Petersburg & Clearwater
Roughly a 3–3.5 hour drive, Saint Petersburg on Florida’s Gulf Coast combines artsy vibes, beautiful beaches, and the Salvador Dalí Museum. Clearwater nearby is famous for its soft sands and clear waters—a great mix of culture and beach time.
