One of the greatest allures of Third Street South is the great shopping. However, with so many great shopping selections throughout Naples, let alone along Third Street South, how do you choose where to shop in this district? Well, in this post, we hope to help you out with this dilemma by giving you our run-down guide of what kind of shops are found along Third Street South, and most importantly, where to shop!
There are six types of shops on Third Street South. These shop types are: fashion, jewelry, interiors and gardens, arts and antiques, gifts, and food. About 85% of the shops along Third Avenue South are fashion, while 10% are interiors and gardens, 2% are arts and antiques, 1% are gifts, and the last 1% are food boutiques.
Please note that these are estimates and not exact numbers regarding the type of shops that are found along Third Street South, however these should give you an idea of the kind of shops you will find here.
The most commonly found shops along Third Street South, and the most popular are fashion retail. There are eighteen fashion retail shops here at Third Street South, most of them geared towards women, however there are a few shops that have clothing for men and children as well. The kind of clothing sold in these shops is resort style/beach chic, however there are some select stores on Third Street South that sell very high-end designer clothing either ready to wear or tailor-made onsite.
Therefore, if you really want a world-class resort style/beach chic apparel shopping experience, Third Street South is the place to shop in Naples. For the ideal resort style/beach chic shopping experience, visit C. Orrico, Gretchen Scott Design, Island Company, J. McLaughlin, Tommy Bahama, Relax, The Beach House of Naples, Tickled Pink, and the Old Naples Surf Shop. If ready-to-wear, high-end designer clothing is more for you, shop at Eileen Fisher, John Craig Clothier, Leggiadro, Marissa Collections, Maus & Hoffman, Sarah Campbell, and Pratt’s Shoe Salon. For a unique, on-site, tailor-made, high-end designer experience for both men and women, visit Elevee, which creates sports clothing and suits for those with very discriminating tastes.
Maybe clothes shopping isn’t your thing? Maybe you’re the type of person who likes to shop for interior items for your home while traveling, or to give as gifts to friends back home? If you are this type of shopper, please visit A Mano, Gattle’s, Jett Thompson Antiques and Interiors and the Englishman. These shops feature distinct decorative items, as well as handmade, high-end dinnerware, linens, flatware, art work, and barware from all over the world.
Maybe you are the type of traveler who likes to buy art and/or antiques for yourself and/or friends? Then, keep shopping at The Englishman, and maybe pay a visit to Harmon Meek Modern, which is one of the oldest American working art galleries in the Southeast United States selling high-quality fine art to patrons.
For the jewelry lover, shopping along Third Street South is a haven. Even though there are very few jewelry shops found along Third Street South as there are fashion boutiques, however, most of the jewelry sold here is often hand-crafted and sold on-site! Perfect examples of these type of shops are Cleopatra’s Barge, Jose Aragon, Pierre and Harry LLC. If you are still looking for fine jewelry, but you aren’t concerned whether or not it’s made on-site or not, visit A Mano and Unique Boutique.
Third Street South is also a great place to shop for that food lover in your life. If you just want to pick up a special treat to take back to your vacation rental or hotel room, stop by the bakery at Tony’s on Third, and maybe pick up a bottle of wine while you’re there! Pastries, and other ready-to-eat goodies are served at the weekly Farmer’s Market, which is held every Saturday from 7:30 am to 11: 30 am.
If you have a kitchen in your vacation rental or hotel room, you might want to pick up some lovely vegetables, fruits, meat and other homemade specialties to take home to make later on during your stay! For unique food gifts to take home to family and friends, visit Sea Salt’s small food boutique, Tony’s on Fifth for their wine, cheese, coffee related items and other food gifts, and the tiny Italian food market at Barbatella.
